first child brings lots of changes. Every new parent has questions and
can use some extra support. That is why Healthy Start is here! WHAT IS HEALTHY START? Healthy Start is a free home visiting program that provides child development, prenatal and parenting information, tips on taking care of your infant, referrals to community groups and information on how to keep your baby and family safe. MISSION Promote and support positive parenting and healthy growth and development to all parents and their first birth children. WELCOME BABY Healthy Start of Columbia county will provide a Welcome Baby packet with the following: resources in your community, child care, feeding support (breast and bottle), free book, prenatal information on birth, your health and development of baby, child development and parenting handouts and Healthy Start home visiting services. HEALTHY START HOME VISITING Each family will be assigned their own Parenting Coach/Family Support Worker Healthy Start of Columbia County Mission: Promote and support positive parenting and healthy growth and development to all parents and their first birth children. PART OF A LARGER SUPPORT SYSTEM Healthy Start is part of national Healthy Families of America Network of home visiting programs. In Oregon, Healthy Start works closely with other organizations so that families get connected with community resources.
